The Turkish Music Department of our Conservatory was established in 2005 and started education in the 2009-2010 academic year by taking students. Undergraduate level students are admitted to the department, which consists of Turkish Classical Music and Turkish Folk Music Majors, with a special talent exam.

In addition to individual instrument training and vocal training, the Turkish Music Department includes a four-year undergraduate program supported by field courses such as instrument knowledge, western music solfeggio and theory, Turkish music solfege and theory, collective practice and repertoire. The mission of our department is to train artist candidates who have a good command of our traditional music and music culture, who know world music, who can develop their creativity and talents, and who can thus present a superior stage performance without making the mistake of thinking within narrow limits.
