Akdeniz University Antalya State Conservatory Music Department was established on September 02, 1999, and started education by taking students in the 2002-2003 academic year. In the Music Department, which consists of Wind Instruments, String Instruments and Piano Major Branches, part-time education is provided at primary education level and full-time education is provided at high school and undergraduate levels, and students are admitted by taking a special talent exam for each level. Students receive a general high school education approved by the Ministry of National Education in addition to vocational education during the high school period, which lasts four years. In our department, since the high school period, in addition to theoretical lessons such as solfeggio, music history, harmony, form knowledge, individual instrument lessons, a performance-oriented education is provided through chamber music, orchestra, choir and auxiliary piano lessons. As of the 2009-2010 academic year, our conservatory has started to admit undergraduate students to the Music Department Guitar Art Branch, again with a special talent exam, in addition to the existing branches.

After a solid basic music education, students gain the right to graduate as a competent performer in the field of performance by gaining experiences such as group class concerts, individual recitals, chamber music and orchestra concerts in the four-year undergraduate period. Our department, which encourages young artist candidates to work with discipline and devotion, proves its education quality once again every day with the success it has achieved in international competitions, domestic and international tours.
